Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 3, 2014 @ 5:00pm and share your views on an Albany County law to end the sale of tobacco in pharmacies and stores that contain a pharmacy.

Albany County Executive Dan McCoy will hold a public hearing in the Cahill Room at the Albany County Office Building, 112 State Street (announcement here). The Albany County Legislature passed the measure on August 11, but it must be approved by the County Executive to become law. If approved, the new law would go into effect on March 1, 2015 and reduce the number of tobacco retailers in Albany County by about fifty, a 15% reduction overall.

If you are a resident of Albany County or work in an organization that serves Albany County residents, you have an opportunity to be heard. Have an opinion? September 3rd would be a good time to share it.
