In honor of Seen Enough Tobacco Day, Niskayuna High School students put up cups-in-a-fence at the school to highlight the disturbing fact that 5.7 disposable vapes are discarded every second in the U.S.  That amounts to almost ½ million a day.  These students are members of Capital District Tobacco-Free Communities’ Reality Check, a teen youth leadership program that strives to educate peers and the community about the impact tobacco marketing, tobacco waste and secondhand smoke have on people and the environment. The display will be up until the Great American Smokeout on November 20, when Reality Check students will make an announcement at the high school to encourage quitting vaping, even for one day, to make their lungs and their environment healthier.  Pictured are Niskayuna High School students Ashita Misra (left) and Kaydence Yeong (right).  Click here to learn more about Reality Check.
