Last night in a unanimous vote, the Albany Common Council voted to make city parks 100% tobacco-free. The ordinance was championed by Council Member Dorcey Applyrs with the co-sponsorship of several other Council Members.
During discussion, Council Members were steadfast in their stated support of public health and the environment and demonstrated that commitment in a unanimous decision. Read and hear more about the vote in the local media:
We applaud the Common Council for their commitment to public health and we look forward to working with the City of Albany in the implementation of this important public health measure.
